TRUMPET ETUDE - Schumann: "Coquette" (from "Carnaval")
Schumann’s “Coquette” from “CARNAVAL” is fun and challenging and piano, but the trumpet version just may be harder (and funner!). It has many tempo changes, has a lot of implied counterpoint, skips around a lot, uses the entire note range and dynamic range of the horn, and is a TON of fun to play.
You may also want to check out my version of “Florestan” and “Chiarina,” also from Schumann’s Carnaval. They make a nice set!
